Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Boswell. They and their team shared their story with us below:
three b’s jam’s co–founders, Matt and Brandi Britt Boswell (three b’s – Brandi Britt Boswell), together turned Brandi’s love of creating homemade jams into a family-owned business. Growing up in Newberry, Florida, Brandi was introduced to gardening from an early age, from planting to picking to cooking and preserving. Her family were consummate gardeners, and this is where she learned all aspects of the craft.
No matter the crop, whether it was cucumbers, onions, okra or potatoes, there was bound to be some jarring after the harvest. It also was not unusual for Brandi to join her father in picking the wild blackberries that grew alongside the local country roads, which her mother would later turn into fresh cobbler or homemade jelly. If it was preserved, young Brandi would diligently check the jars to make sure they were properly sealed; in fact, she still remembers the sense of victory and enjoyment brought about by hearing the “pop” of a well-sealed jar. That passion never went away for Brandi. Fatefully, she could not have predicted the pivotal role it would play in her life. After her husband Matt was laid off by the film industry in 2020 (a casualty of the pandemic), the two found themselves, like many others, at home with a lot of time on their hands. To occupy themselves and keep their spirits up, Brandi turned to her favorite pastime, traveling with Matt to local fruit farms for fresh-picked produce. They’d return home with their bounty, and Brandi would transform the goods into delectable jalapeño pepper jam.
